Press Release sent out for Artistic Adventure

Soulard -
St. Louis, Missouri - June 13, 2005:  The Soulard Ambassadors’ Club in cooperation with Soulard area businesses is sponsoring the second annual “Soulard Artistic Adventure” to be held from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on June 18th, 2005 at Soulard Market Park and at Soulard area businesses.  We invite the whole St. Louis community to spend the day enjoying the arts, visiting the Soulard Market and strolling through Soulard.

Artists of all medium have been invited to Soulard to promote and show their artistic venues.  Musicians, sculptors, actors, painters, and candlestick makers will be at Soulard Market Park and Soulard establishments showcasing a potpourri of artistic genre.  Artists will have work on display and for sale.  The promenade at Soulard Market will become a Bohemian artist colony for the day; much like Jackson Square in the French Quarter of New Orleans.

Many Soulard establishments will be featuring special artistic venues throughout the day ranging from tarot card readings to live musical performances.  An information booth will be located at the Soulard Market Park and will have available: “Soulard Historic Tour Maps”, self guiding “Grub & Pub Crawl Maps”, and Soulard lifestyle information.

The day’s event will transcend into the night as “Faites de la Lumiere”.   Everyone is invited to enjoy the illuminated performance of The Celestial Theatre, a theatre troupe specializing in illumination and black light performances. The troupe will meet in full costume at the southwest corner of Soulard Market Park (9th and Lafayette) to begin an illuminated sidewalk stroll through Soulard.  The stroll will proceed to Hammerstone’s Restaurant & Bar (corner of 9th and Russell) where the main light show will be performed.  The stroll will end back at Soulard Market Park (corner of 9th and Lafayette) at approximately 11:30 pm.   Any one wishing to be part of the costumed illuminated stroll can contact Bill Krantz at 771-1190 by June 16, 2005.
