St. Louis Mardi Gras 2006

"Soulard Mardi Gras Celebrates the Small Screen"

Preparations are all ready well under way for the St. Louis 26th Annual Mardi Gras.  Last year's Mardi Gras celebration had great attendance and we hope to have an even bigger celebration in at Mardi Gras 2006.

Mardi Gras, French for Fat Tuesday, is the day before Ash Wednesday; and the final day of Carnivale, a celebration before the Christian season of Lent.  Mardi Gras starts at the end of the twelfth day of Christmas, with festivities occuring within the two weeks before Mardi Gras Day, Fat Tuesday.  This year the Charter Communications Grand Parade from Downtown to Soulard is on February 25th, 11:00am to 2:00pm; festivities will last all day in Historic Soulard.  The Fat Tuesday Parade in Downtown St. Louis is on February 28th, 6:30pm.

For more information on St. Louis Mardi Gras 2006 visit mardigrasinc.com, the offical website of St. Louis Mardi Gras.  Included on the site is an events calendar, maps and parking information, where to stay and eat, and simple do's and don't to make your Mardi Gras a safe and enjoyable celebration.
